EsophyX is based on EGS' proprietary NOS (Natural Orifice Surgery) platform technology. Designed specially for performing incisionless reconstructive gastrointestinal procedures, the device is introduced into the body through the mouth, rather than through an abdominal incision. The advantages of incisionless surgery over laparoscopic or open surgery include shorter hospital stay, reduced patient discomfort, shortened patient recovery, no visible scars, and typically higher patient satisfaction.

The revolutionary TIF (Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication) procedure, made possible through the use of the EsophyX device, effectively treats the cause of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), also known as chronic acid reflux disease. The procedure reconstructs the antireflux barrier at the gastroesophageal junction, restoring the patient’s natural anatomical geometry. A less invasive procedure, TIF emulates the more invasive gold-standard laparoscopic or open procedure used to treat chronic acid reflux disease.
