by Chip Hennen Redwood City, CA (January 26, 2011) – EndoGastric Solutions (EGS), the recognized leader in the emerging field of Natural Orifice Surgery (NOS), today announced that the second annual Advanced Techniques in Transoral Fundoplication CME course will be held February 3-4 in Denver, CO. Tailored to the needs of physicians and OR/GI staff with an interest in the transoral approach to treating GERD, the Advanced Techniques course features a world-class faculty and observation of four live surgery procedures. Course attendance is anticipated to surpass last year's attendance of 110 surgeons. Course directors Reginald C. Bell, MD (Englewood, CO) and Steven S. Rothenberg, MD (Denver, CO) will be joined by faculty members Donald O. Castell, MD (Charleston, SC), Katherine D. Freeman NP, MSN (Englewood, CO), Philip D. Hanna, MD (Denver, CO), Brant K. Oelschlager, MD (Seattle, WA) and Glenn Ihde, MD (Dallas, TX). The course will be delivered over two days. Didactic lectures will optimize patient evaluation and selection, explore variations in TIF technique, and provide a deeper understanding of TIF for a range of GERD applications gained in over 5000 procedures worldwide. New this year, the course will also offer a breakout session specifically designed for the assistant in surgery. This one-hour session will include an overview of TIF technology, initial setup, and step-by-step review of the procedure with a focus on obtaining appropriate visualization.
