Material Specialist

Reports to: Vice President, R&D & Operations, Redmond
Status: Regular, Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Pay Range:

Salary Range $28 to $34/per hour

Position Responsibilities:
  • Production Planning and execution of the production plan.
  • Manage all Stores areas (Warehouse, Material Overflow, and the CER).
  • Perform work order kitting, issuing, and component stock transfers as needed to support production work order release.
  • Generate and process necessary forms to support on-going sterilization and sterilization labs load releases.
  • Coordinate the shipping of product to and from the sterilizer.
  • Manage gowning supplies and floor stock for the CER and Batch Processing areas.
  • Coordinate and process return product with QA and Customer Service (RMA’s).
  • Process all company non-product miscellaneous shipments.
  • Perform receiving functions, create paperwork, and perform transactions in ERP (QAD) system, label parts and transfer parts to Receiving Inspection.
  • Perform Material Handling functions in Shipping, Packaging and Inventory – order kitting/kanban picking, stocking, and issue transactions as required.
  • Identify potential inventory issues and implement corrective action to prevent part shortages.
  • Aid in development, drafting and updating Supply Chain procedures.
  • Perform inventory component cycle counting. Generate and post cycle counting results.
  • Team support for Supply chain continuous process improvement project activities.
  • Provide administrative support to the Supply Chain department and perform related duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
  • Must have two to four years related experience required. AA degree in business, material management or related field preferred.
  • Relevant experience in material control/material handling experience in a medical device manufacturing company desirable.
  • Experience using a ERP/Inventory control computer system.
  • Previous experience in a “start-up” work environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organization and follow up skills.
  • Proven supplier development and interface experience.
  • Occasional lifting up to 40 pounds may be required..
  • Experience executing daily duties within a “clean room” and warehouse environment.
  • Detail oriented team player; able to multi-task in high pressure environment.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to problem solves and works independently.
  • Must have a Mobile Equipment Operators Authorization card.


  • Experience working in an GMP environment
  • Experience using a ERP/Inventory control computer system
  • Experience with FDA/ISO requirements for Inventory/Purchasing Management
  • Experience in inventory control functions
  • Experience with lot traceability, reconciliation and cycle counting
